NEET UG Results 2021: Tie-Breaking Protocol
Due to the enormous number of test-takers, it is not uncommon for two or more candidates to have the same score in this exam.
Such applicants, however, cannot share the same rank in the NEET 2021 merit list.
As a result, NTA has a tie-break mechanism in place for such instances.
- Candidates with higher scores in Biology are granted a higher rank than others.
- If the marks in the Biology section are equal, the candidate with the higher Chemistry score is granted a higher rank than the others.
- If a candidate’s marks in Biology and Chemistry are equal, the candidate with the fewest wrong answers is assigned a higher rank.

NEET UG 2021 Result: Validity
The NEET 2021 results will be valid for three years after the declaration year. Candidates are recommended to save and download their NEET 2021 results from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Because it will be required to serve during counselling and medical admission, the NEET result must be kept for a minimum of 90 days from the date of declaration of results. Following the announcement of the NEET 2021 results, medical admission will be provided on the basis of counselling.
To join an institute in India: The NEET result 2021 would be valid just for the current academic session, ie is 2021-22 for students who desire to register for MBBS courses within India.
To join a foreign institute: The NEET 2021 result will be valid for three years for students who intend to apply for MBBS courses outside of India.

- Candidates who have passed the NEET will be able to participate in the MCC-led centralised counselling process for the All India Quota (excluding those from J&K). Candidates can sign up for centralised NEET Counselling.
- Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir who pass the exam but do not choose to participate in the All India Quota counselling procedure will be able to register for the J&K state counselling process.
