The NEET-UG 2021 examination was held on the 12th of September 2021 in various exam centres across the country. According to the reports coming more than 16 lakhs students have attended the examination. It’s been a month now and the candidates are eagerly waiting for the NTA to announce the results. After the results, the NEET qualified candidates will be called for the counselling process by the respective authorities.

NEET UG counselling is a procedure conducted by the concerned authority to allocate the medical seats to NEET qualified candidates. The seats will be allotted on the basis of choice made by candidates, reservation criteria and various other factors. When will counselling start for NEET 2021?

The start date for NEET 2021 counselling has not been announced. The NEET 2021 counselling process for admissions to All India Quota seats will be conducted by DGHS. State authorities are responsible for NEET counselling for the state’s medical UG admission.

Who will conduct NEET 2021 counselling for medical and dental colleges?

The NEET 2021 counselling sessions will be conducted by respective authorities. Refer to the below table for detailed information.

Who will conduct counselling for state quota seats and private colleges?

The respective state counselling authorities will conduct the NEET counselling for 85% of state quota seats. In the case of Jammu & Kashmir, counselling will be conducted for 100% of the seats.

In which mode will the counselling of NEET 2021 be conducted?

NEET 2021 counselling will be offered both offline and online. It is up to the central and state counselling authorities to determine this. Candidates who wish to participate in NEET 2021 online counselling must complete an online choice filling method. Candidates must, however, report to the individual counselling place for counselling if they prefer the offline counselling option.

Who can participate in NEET counselling for 15% AIQ seats?

The counselling for 15% AIQ seats is available to all and can be chosen by any candidate who passes the national level medical entrance examination by securing the NEET cutoff 2021. The candidates from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to attend this.

What will the counselling process for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER be?

Admission to the AIIMS institutes and JIPMER institutes for undergraduate programmes will be based on NEET scores. In order to enrol in the aforementioned institutes, the eligible candidates must first register on the MCC’s official website.

What is the eligibility criteria for ESIC counselling?

Reservations for seats kept for sons and daughters of ESI insured persons have been cancelled by authorities. As a result, candidates would be admitted based on their AIQ eligibility.

What is the eligibility criteria for admission to AFMS?

Candidates seeking admission to AFMS would need to register with MCC. Aspirants must express their readiness to be admitted to the institute when registering for the same. After MCC receives registration from such individuals, a list of their names will be provided to AFMS for offline counselling, which the latter will conduct.

Who is eligible for Central Universities counselling?

Delhi University: The university will give 15% of the seats to AIQ, while those who have studied in Delhi in the eleventh and twelfth grades would be eligible for the institutional quota.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU): All aspirants who qualify for the NEET 2021 entrance exam will be eligible to participate in BHU counselling.

Aligarh Muslim University: There will be 50% institutional reservations for such candidates who have completed at least three years of schooling at the institution. The remaining 50% of seats will be reserved for all students who qualify for NEET 2020.

Jamia Milia, Delhi (Dentistry): In JMI, three BDS seats are subject to internal quotas, while the rest 47 seats are available to all candidates regardless of category.

VMMC & SJH: This institute reserves 15% + AIR seats of the Institution quota for AIQ. The remaining slots are allocated for those who have finished their 11th and 12th grades at Delhi-based schools.

How many rounds of counselling will be conducted for Deemed and Central Universities?

If seats remain unfilled, the authorities will conduct two rounds of counselling, followed by a mop-up round for Deemed/Central. If any vacant seats remain after the mop-up round of NEET UG counselling 2021, they will be filled via a stray vacancy round. The authorities will give a list of candidates ten times the number of vacant seats to the institutes.

Is there any institute for which DGHS will conduct the counselling for 85% of state quota seats?

Yes, on behalf of MCC, DGHS will conduct counselling for the 85 per cent state quota seats available in Delhi University college.

Will I be eligible to participate in the state counselling, if a seat is allotted to me in the second round of counselling conducted by MCC on behalf of DGHS?

If you do not attend the college that was allotted to you in NEET 2021 counselling, you will be able to participate in state counselling, but the authorities will forfeit the security money. If the candidate enrols in the designated college, he or she would not be able to withdraw or surrender from the NEET 2021 counselling. Furthermore, such applicants will be barred from participating in further rounds of NEET counselling 2021. To ensure this, the authorities would submit the names of candidates who have joined an institute in the respective round of counselling, excluding them from participating in later phases.

Do Deemed Universities offer reservations?

Candidates should be aware that there is no reservation for SC/ST/OBC students at Deemed Universities across the country.

What is the percentage of reservations under the PwD category?

Candidates in the PwD category should be aware that the NEET 2021 reservation of seats in the PwD category has been raised from 3% to 5% in the AIQ Central Universities. Students who belong to this category will be required to present a Disability Certificate from the Disability Assessment Boards.

What is meant by All India Rank (AIR) in the counselling of NEET?

All India Rank can be defined as the combined rank of candidates from both the reserved and open categories. Candidates should be aware that if they pass the examination, they will be granted an AIR in the NEET 2021 result.

What is the process of allotment of seats in Deemed/Central Universities for the mop-up round?

3. Candidates will subsequently be required to report to their designated colleges.

How do I get an idea of the seat I am likely to be allotted on the basis of rank secured by me?

Candidates can look at past year NEET seat allotment lists to get an idea of what seat they might obtain based on their rank. It should be noted, that there is no assurance for this.

If a candidate has mistakenly opted for Deemed University’s seats instead of AIQ does he/she have the option to correct it?

Yes. there is a one time opportunity for candidates to rectify the mistake by using the reset initialization option provided at the time of registration.

Am I eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling if I have joined the seat allotted to me in round one of NEET counselling 2021?

Candidates who were allotted a college in the first round must join to complete the admission processes, after which they can choose to participate in subsequent rounds and upgrade. Candidates have free entry and exit in round 1 of NEET 2021 counselling, allowing them to surrender their allotted seats and compete in phase 2.

Do those candidates who do not join the college allotted to them in round 2 of counselling of NEET and wish to participate in the mop-up round for Deemed/Central universities need to register afresh?

Yes. such candidates will have to re-register for the mop-up round of counselling held by Deemed/Central institutions. However, such candidates’ security deposits will be forfeited.

Which candidates are not eligible for the second round of NEET counselling 2021?

Candidates who submitted incomplete or insufficient documentation for the NEET 2021 admission procedure would be ineligible to participate in the second round.

Who is eligible for the second round of counselling?

Scenario 1: Those registered candidates who couldn’t get a seat in the first round of NEET 2021 counselling.

Scenario 2: Candidates who registered and secured a seat under the reserved quota but had their seat cancelled during the first round of document verification will be eligible for the second round. If there are seats available, they will be assigned a seat in a different category.

Scenario 3: Medical aspirants who reported to their allotted college after the first round of NEET counselling and expressed their willingness to be upgraded to a better seat

Scenario 4: Candidates who were offered a seat but did not take it.

Scenario 5: Candidates who surrendered their seats in the first round of NEET 2021 counselling.

After joining the college allotted to me in the second round of AIQ seat counselling can I opt to join state/private quota seats?

The Honorable Supreme Court has stated that after a candidate has been assigned a seat in the second round of counselling, he or she may not resign from it. If a candidate has been assigned a seat in round 2, they can withdraw by forfeiting their security deposit.

Is fresh registration required for round 2 of counselling of NEET if I have already registered for round 1?

No, already enrolled candidates are not required to re-register for round 2; they can use their round 1 login credentials.

Will the authorities enable fresh registrations for stray vacancy round?

No, the DGHS will send a list of candidates ten times the number of vacant seats, and the final stray vacancy round will be conducted by the Deemed/Central universities.

How can I retrieve the password in case I forget it?

Candidates must re-enter the information they filled out upon registration in order to obtain their password. This includes your response to the security question. Candidates will then be allowed to create a new password for future logging purposes if the information they submit matches with the previous information provided.

For the registration for counselling of NEET 2021, what are the document requirements?

Candidates should keep a printout of their application form on hand at all times. This is due to the fact that they will be required to input specific information for NEET 2021 counselling registration. Aside from that, because the AIQ counselling will be conducted online, no further documents will be necessary.

If I furnish the documents in regional language will the authorities accept them?

The documents must be submitted in either English or Hindi. Certain state authorities, however, only recognise certificates written in English. If the original document is in a regional language, it is best to carry an English translation of the attested copy.

In case the spelling of a candidates name in the application form and documents mismatch will they be eligible to participate in counselling of NEET?

In this situation, the candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling process if they bring an affidavit as proof of identity.

What are the documents to be furnished at the allotted college at the time of reporting?

How many choices can the candidate give for college and course?

Candidates can select as many colleges and courses as they wish throughout the process. It is not subject to any restrictions or limitations imposed by the authorities.
1) Candidates will be assigned seats in the same round based on the choices they made in round one.
2) Candidates cannot make modifications to their selections once they have locked them; therefore, it is recommended that they lock choices only 3) when they are certain of the options; otherwise, they should only save it.
4) If candidates do not lock their choices within the time limit, the choices they entered will be locked automatically.

What are the points to be remembered while candidates fill choices for round 2 of counselling of NEET?

What if I do not enter any choice during the choice filling process?

In such cases, the candidate will not be allotted in any colleges.

In order to participate in NEET 2021 counselling what registration fee candidates are required to pay?

Candidates are required to pay two types of fees

What is the meaning of free exit in the counselling of NEET?

Only candidates in the first round have the option of a free exit from the counselling process. Candidates who choose this option would be able to decline the designated college and participate in the following rounds of counselling without forfeiting their security deposit.

What is the meaning of exit with forfeiture in round 2?

This means that candidates can exit from the NEET counselling 2021 procedure in round 2, but their security deposit will be forfeited. However, the candidate must not join the allocated seat in order to do so, because if he does, he will be unable to surrender the seat.

When does the authority forfeit the security money?

If an applicant is allotted a seat in the second or mop-up round and does not intend to attend the assigned college, In the situation that the candidate provides inaccurate or insufficient information at any phase of the admissions process

How is the refund of the security amount of the counselling for NEET initiated?

The security deposit will be refunded by the authorities at the conclusion of the counselling session. If a candidate is assigned a seat in NEET counselling 2021, his or her security deposit is repaid to the institution and compensated with the annual fee. If the candidate is not assigned a seat during the counselling process, his/her security deposit will be reimbursed to the bank account provided at the time of registration.

Can up-gradation facility be availed in the second round of counselling for Deemed/ Central Universities to Mop-up Round counselling of DGHS for Central / Deemed Universities?

Candidates who join the college allocated to them in the second round of Deemed/Central university counselling will not be able to upgrade. Furthermore, such candidates are not permitted to resign from their positions in the AIQ. Moreover, these candidates will be ineligible to participate in any subsequent rounds of counselling, including the stray round.

If my upgraded choice is allotted to me after round 1 do I have to join the allotted college?

Yes, because in such a case, the seat assigned to you in round one will be automatically annulled. Candidates must report to the institution given in round 2 with a relieving letter from the college allotted in round 1 of NEET counselling after the seat allocation result is revealed.

What will happen if I do not join the college allotted to me after graduation?

If you do not accept the seat that has been allotted to you after graduation, your security deposit will be forfeited, and you will have to re-register for the mop-up round of counselling.
