NEET 2023 Exam Pattern: The NEET 2023 Exam Pattern is determined by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NEET 2023 Exam Pattern is meant to choose the best participants for various Medical courses. Every year, around 16 lakh students take the NEET examinations.

The exam will be held in various locations across the country. Candidates who intend to appear for the NEET 2023 examination must be aware of the NEET exam pattern in order to study appropriately and pass the NEET exam on their first try.

The NEET 2023 exam will be held in offline format and will last 3 hours. For the forthcoming NEET 2023 test, 200 multiple-choice questions from Zoology, Botany Chemistry, and Physics will be asked. Out of 200 questions, 180 questions are mandatory. For each successful response, four points will be awarded, and one point will be lost for each incorrect attempt. The entire NEET 2023 exam pattern is given below.

Subject Wise Distribution Of Marks

According to the NEET 2023 exam pattern, the NEET question paper will be divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. The NEET exam will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (multiple-choice questions).

Each section/subject contains two sections –

  • Section A: 35 Questions
  • Section B: 15 Questions

Candidates can only attempt up to ten of the 15 questions in Section B.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern: Marking Scheme

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions) in NEET 2023. Each question has a choice of four answers. Each question carries 4 marks for every correct answer. Marks will be deducted for wrong answers. A detailed description of the marking scheme is given below.

Correct Answer: Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks

Wrong Answer: One mark will be deducted for each wrong attempt

Unanswered Question: No marks will be deducted for unattended questions.

Multiple Response: Two or more responses marked for the same question will be considered as incorrect answers and one mark will be deducted for the same.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern: Question Paper Medium

  1. The medium of the exam paper must be chosen when filling out the NEET 2023 application form.
  2. The language that is selected at the start cannot be changed later.
  3. Candidates who choose English will receive the Test Booklet solely in English.
  4. Candidates who choose any other language medium will be given a Bilingual Test Booklet in their preferred language and English.
  5. If there is any discrepancy in the translation, the English version of the question paper will be considered final.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern: Instructions to Fill OMR Sheet

  • The answers have to be marked using a ballpoint pen. 
  • The changing of answers on the OMR sheet is not allowed.
  • Erasing/wiping or destroying any printed information on the OMR sheet is a punishable offence.
  • The rough work should be done in the space provided. 
  • The candidate has to mark the test booklet code on the OMR sheet, failing to this will land the candidate in trouble.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern: Question Paper Analysis

Candidates should be able to analyse the question paper as soon as the NEET examination is completed. Every applicant must conduct a paper analysis in order to determine the difficulty level of the questions and hence analyse their performance in the NEET 2023 exam.

Candidates can predict their chances of passing the NEET test using the NEET analysis 2023. Candidates can compare their responses to the NEET 2023 official answer key once it is analysed.

  • NTA – Answer key released by the National Testing Agency is considered to be the official answer key. Usually, NTA releases the answer key a few days after the NEET exam.

Can foreign nationals apply for NEET 2023?

No. Changes in the centre of the city is not possible after the allotment of the roll number. You are advised to be careful while filling the choice of centre.

Will NEET have descriptive questions?

No, NEET has only multiple-choice questions as of now.
