The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced NEET UG 2021 counselling dates on their official website(mcc.nic.in). Medical Counselling Committee will begin the round 1 registration process for NEET counselling 2021 from January 19, 2022.

What is NEET Counselling?

NEET Counselling is the process conducted by the authority to allocate the medical seats to NEET-qualified candidates. NEET-UG seat allocation will be based on NEET scores, choices made, seat availability, reservation criteria, and other factors. Around 20,089 seats will be filled through NEET counselling under the 15% All India Quota, all deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER colleges.

NEET-UG 2021 Counselling: Schedule

The first round of NEET counselling results for 2021 will be announced on January 29, 2022. During the NEET 2021 counselling registration procedure, candidates must indicate their choices for colleges and courses in which they wish to enrol. The NEET counselling 2021 admission will be done based on these choices, available seats, NEET scores, reservation criteria, and other factors.

Previously, MCC announced new structural changes to the NEET AIQ counselling 2021.  According to the most recent data, MCC will hold four rounds of AIQ NEET counselling: round 1, round 2, mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. NEET-UG Counselling 2021 will be held for admission to 89,395 MBBS, 27,948 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc, and AH programmes. NEET UG 2021 will also offer admission to BSc Nursing, 1,899 AIIMS, and 249 JIPMER MBBS seats at the affiliated colleges. MCC has also issued a piece of advice to those interested in participating in NEET 2021 counselling. The state conducting body will announce the NEET state rank for 2021.

To register for the first round of NEET counselling 2021, applicants must provide their personal, academic, NEET-UG, contact, and other details. NEET 2021 counselling registration fees must be paid online by students. During the MCC NEET counselling 2021, applicants must select institutions and courses for admission.

Following the registration procedure, NEET-UG seat distribution will take place based on NEET scores, choices made, seat availability, reservation criteria, and other factors. Around 20,089 seats will be filled through NEET counselling under the 15% All India Quota all deemed/central institutions, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER colleges.

The revised AIQ counselling procedure is as follows:

  • MCC NEET counselling 2021 will take place in four rounds: first, second, mop-up, and stray.
  • Fresh registrations will be permitted just until the mop-up round.
  • In round 1 of NEET counselling 2021, candidate will have the option of upgrading or withdrawing.
  • Candidates who accept a seat in the first round of NEET-UG counselling will be unable to quit and are ineligible to participate in subsequent rounds of counselling.
  • Candidates who do not accept the given seat in the second round will be eligible for additional rounds of counselling if they pay a security deposit and re-register in the mop-up round only.

Who is eligible for NEET Counselling ?

NEET UG Counselling 2021 – Central Universities Eligblity Criteria

  1. Delhi University: All India Quota seats account for 15% of available seats, whereas institutional quota seats account for 85% of available seats for applicants who completed their 10+2 in Delhi.
  2. Banaras Hindu University: Open to all Indian candidates
  3. Aligarh Muslim University: Institutional reservation of 50% for AMU school candidates who have studied there for the last three years. The remaining 50% of seats would be filled by All India candidates.
  4. Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi: There are three BDS seats available under JMI’s internal quota, while 47 seats are available through the All India Quota. Students who have completed their 10+2 from Jamia Schools are eligible to apply for internal quota.
  5. VMMC & SJH: 15% of seats are reserved for all Indian students, and the remaining are designated as Institute Quota for students who have completed their 10+2 in Delhi.

NEET UG 2021 Counselling – Step by Step Procedure

MCI conducts counselling in two rounds to fill 15% of All India Quota Seats, followed by a mop-up round. The following are the stages involved in NEET Counselling Registration:

NEET UG Counselling Procedure Step 1: Registration

Candidates who are qualified and eligible must register at mcc.nic.in. They must enter their NEET roll number, registration number, name, mother’s name, and birth date. Refer step to step procedures of registration below.

  1. Visit the official website – http://www.mcc.nic.in/ and click on new registration
  2. Fill the required informations in the coloumns provided.
  3. A new Roll No. and Password will be generated after providing all of the relevant information. You can register for NEET Counselling using these credentials.
  4. Go to the MCC website and click ‘Candidate login.’
  5. Enter your Password and Rollnumber.
  6. You will be redirected to a new page where you must provide informations such as Name, Rollnumber, Mother’s name etc. After filling all relevant information click on submit
  7. On next page, you will be shown all of your information as it appears in the NTA database. Verify the information and then click the ‘Confirm Registration’ button and your Registration Slip will be created. Candidates are adviced to bookmark this page for later purposes.

The next step is to pay the NEET counselling and security fees with a credit/debit card or through online banking.

NEET Counselling Procedure Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking

  • Here in this step candidates must give their preferences. Since admission is given on the basis of merit, you should fill out the choices with your scores in mind.
  • The list of colleges can be accessed now, You can select as many options as you want.
  • After filling out the options on the list, candidates can arrange them in the order of their choice by moving them up or down, swapping and deleting choices.
  • Once you are done with this you can enter your password and click on ‘Lock Choices’.
  • Candidates are not permitted to change their choices once they have been locked in, so be careful with your choices
  • After locking, candidates can take print of locked options list.

NEET Counselling Procedure Step 3 Seat Allotment

MCC publishes the results of each session of counselling. It is made public in the form of a list, followed by the distribution of seat allotment letters to the selected candidates. To complete the admission procedure, candidates must report to the allotted colleges with the allotment letter and other documents.

NEET Counselling Procedure Step 4 – Reporting to Allotted Colleges

Following seat allotment, an applicant must report to the chosen college to complete the admission processes. It is not necessary to participate or report in the first round. Candidates who would like to take a seat or upgrade to a higher choice, on the other hand, must join and report. In the second round, seat allotment must be followed by reporting and joining, unless candidates choose the exit with forfeiture option, in that case, their security deposit will be forfeited.

NEET UG Counselling 2021: Free Exit and Exit with Forfeiture

Free Exit: If a candidate who was assigned a seat in round 1 does not report to/join the assigned college, he or she will not be penalized, which means the security deposit will not be forfeited. Such candidates will be eligible for the following rounds.

Exit with Forfeiture:

If a candidate is allotted a seat in round 2 but does not wish to accept it, he or she may still exit with forfeiture within the timespan specified. In this case, the security amount deposited will be lost.

Candidates who have joined the allocated seat in the second would be ineligible to resign/surrender the seat and they are also marked as ineligible to participate in state counselling.

NEET Counselling 2021 State Quota

State authorities will fill the remaining 85 per cent of seats in government medical institutions and 100 per cent of seats in state private medical colleges. Each state’s NEET counselling approach will be unique. Admission to MBBS programs in government institutions and private medical schools will be governed by state guidelines for the state NEET counselling procedure.

State Wise NEET Counselling Details

1. Karnataka NEET Counselling 2021

Karnataka has a total number of 63 medical colleges comprising both Government and Private. The state has a total of 9,345 MBBS and 3,445 BDS seats. Admissions to these medical colleges are strictly based on the scores of the NEET examination. Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore, shall be in charge of Karnataka MBBS counselling.

Karnataka MBBS counselling 2021 will be conducted for 85 per cent state quota and 100 per cent private college seats. There will be two rounds of Karnataka MBBS/BDS 2021 counselling, followed by a mop-up round if there are any unfilled seats.

Karantaka MBBS/BDS Admissions 2021: Admission Procedure

  1. To participate in Karnataka NEET 2021 counselling, candidates must first log in at kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. Candidates will be instructed to provide their security key and password in order to log in.
  3. Candidates can check the security key from the acknowledgement slip that is sent following successful document verification.
  4. After logging in, candidates must choose a discipline.
  5. People who have selected medical, a list of MBBS colleges in the state will show. Similarily after selecting a dental, a list of BDS colleges participating in Karnataka NEET 2021 would be displayed.
  6. To choose a course/college, candidates must input the priority number in front of that selection.
  7. Candidates can fill as many as choices
  8. The choices made before to the first round of Karnataka MBBS 2021 counselling will be final and will be used in following rounds of counselling.
  9. Candidates who have registered but failed to fill the choices will be considered as ineligible

2. Kerala NEET Counselling 2021

Kerala is home to 13 government and 21 private medical colleges. The MBBS admissions for medical colleges in Kerala are expected to start by the end of October 2021.

Counselling for MBBS, BDS, and other medical seats in Kerala is handled by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams Kerala. Counselling for medical courses will be announced following the release of the NEET-UG 2021 results. 3. Uttar Pradesh NEET Counselling 2021

Uttar Pradesh had 12 exam centres and according to unofficial reports, 1,54,705 students have attended the NEET examination in Uttar Pradesh. The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh, conducts the medical admission procedures in Uttar Pradesh. Admission to 7528 MBBS seats in Uttar Pradesh will be provided based on the results earned by candidates in NEET 2021.

4. Gujarat NEET Counselling 2021

ACPUGMEC-Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses is the concerned authority to conduct the NEET counselling in Gujarat. The whole procedure will be done in online mode. For NEET 2021 qualifying applicants, three rounds of Gujarat MBBS 2021 counselling will be held. Admission to 5,508 MBBS, 1,255 BDS, 2,262 BAMS, and 3,455 BHMS seats under 85 per cent state quota and 100 per cent private colleges would be provided through Gujarat NEET counselling 2021.

Candidates can log in using the credentials they received during the Gujarat MBBS 2021 registration process.

5. Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2021

The Maharashtra Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) is the official authority for Maharashtra MBBS admission. 6. Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2021

The state is home to 55 medical colleges. The Directorate of Medical Education will conduct Tamil Nadu MBBS 2021 counselling in an offline mode.DME will conduct Tamil Nadu MBBS 2021 counselling for 85 per cent of seats under the state quota and 100 per cent of seats in self-financing colleges in Tamil Nadu.

NEET Counselling Procedure Step 3 Seat Allotment

MCC publishes the results of each session of counselling. It is made public in the form of a list, followed by the distribution of seat allotment letters to the selected candidates. To complete the admission procedure, candidates must report to the allotted colleges with the allotment letter and other documents.

NEET Counselling Procedure Step 4 – Reporting to Allotted Colleges

Following seat allotment, an applicant must report to the chosen college to complete the admission processes. It is not necessary to participate or report in the first round. Candidates who would like to take a seat or upgrade to a higher choice, on the other hand, must join and report. In the second round, seat allotment must be followed by reporting and joining, unless candidates choose the exit with forfeiture option, in that case, their security deposit will be forfeited.

NEET UG Counselling 2021: Free Exit and Exit with Forfeiture

Free Exit: If a candidate who was assigned a seat in round 1 does not report to/join the assigned college, he or she will not be penalized, which means the security deposit will not be forfeited. Such candidates will be eligible for the following rounds.

Exit with Forfeiture:

If a candidate is allotted a seat in round 2 but does not wish to accept it, he or she may still exit with forfeiture within the timespan specified. In this case, the security amount deposited will be lost.

Candidates who have joined the allocated seat in the second would be ineligible to resign/surrender the seat and they are also marked as ineligible to participate in state counselling.

NEET Counselling 2021 State Quota

State authorities will fill the remaining 85 per cent of seats in government medical institutions and 100 per cent of seats in state private medical colleges. Each state’s NEET counselling approach will be unique. Admission to MBBS programs in government institutions and private medical schools will be governed by state guidelines for the state NEET counselling procedure.

State Wise NEET Counselling Details

1. Karnataka NEET Counselling 2021

Karnataka has a total number of 63 medical colleges comprising both Government and Private. The state has a total of 9,345 MBBS and 3,445 BDS seats. Admissions to these medical colleges are strictly based on the scores of the NEET examination. Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore, shall be in charge of Karnataka MBBS counselling.

Karnataka MBBS counselling 2021 will be conducted for 85 per cent state quota and 100 per cent private college seats. There will be two rounds of Karnataka MBBS/BDS 2021 counselling, followed by a mop-up round if there are any unfilled seats.

Karantaka MBBS/BDS Admissions 2021: Admission Procedure

  1. To participate in Karnataka NEET 2021 counselling, candidates must first log in at kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. Candidates will be instructed to provide their security key and password in order to log in.
  3. Candidates can check the security key from the acknowledgement slip that is sent following successful document verification.
  4. After logging in, candidates must choose a discipline.
  5. People who have selected medical, a list of MBBS colleges in the state will show. Similarily after selecting a dental, a list of BDS colleges participating in Karnataka NEET 2021 would be displayed.
  6. To choose a course/college, candidates must input the priority number in front of that selection.
  7. Candidates can fill as many as choices
  8. The choices made before to the first round of Karnataka MBBS 2021 counselling will be final and will be used in following rounds of counselling.
  9. Candidates who have registered but failed to fill the choices will be considered as ineligible

2. Kerala NEET Counselling 2021

Kerala is home to 13 government and 21 private medical colleges. The MBBS admissions for medical colleges in Kerala are expected to start by the end of October 2021.

Counselling for MBBS, BDS, and other medical seats in Kerala is handled by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams Kerala. Counselling for medical courses will be announced following the release of the NEET-UG 2021 results. 3. Uttar Pradesh NEET Counselling 2021

Uttar Pradesh had 12 exam centres and according to unofficial reports, 1,54,705 students have attended the NEET examination in Uttar Pradesh. The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh, conducts the medical admission procedures in Uttar Pradesh. Admission to 7528 MBBS seats in Uttar Pradesh will be provided based on the results earned by candidates in NEET 2021.

  • The counselling will take place online at their official website – upneet.gov.in.
  • Candidates will be asked to submit their college and course preferences during the counselling session.

  • Following each round of counselling, the Uttar Pradesh NEET seat allotment list will be published.
  • Students who have been allotted seats must report to the assigned institute to complete the admission procedure.

4. Gujarat NEET Counselling 2021

ACPUGMEC-Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses is the concerned authority to conduct the NEET counselling in Gujarat. The whole procedure will be done in online mode. For NEET 2021 qualifying applicants, three rounds of Gujarat MBBS 2021 counselling will be held. Admission to 5,508 MBBS, 1,255 BDS, 2,262 BAMS, and 3,455 BHMS seats under 85 per cent state quota and 100 per cent private colleges would be provided through Gujarat NEET counselling 2021.

Candidates can log in using the credentials they received during the Gujarat MBBS 2021 registration process.

  1. Go to the regsitartion link. (not yet released)
  2. Click ‘Medical, dental, ayurvedic, and homoeopathic’ tab.
  3. Select the ‘Apply for admission to medical, dental, ayurveda, and homoeopathic programmes’ option.
  4. Choose ‘candidate registration/login’ from the list of online services.
  5. Log in with your user name, password, 14-digit pin, and captcha.

After logging in, students can view the list of medical and dental institutes in the state that are participating in the Gujarat MBBS/BDS 2021 counselling.
Candidates must fill out their preferences for courses and colleges in the order of preference and don’t forget to lock your choices.

  1. After logging in, click on the ‘choice details’ tab.
  2. Three options will be displayed: available choice, fill choice, and print filled choice.
  3. Click on available options to view the list of available courses and colleges for Gujarat MBBS counselling 2021.
  4. Select the ‘fill choice’ option.
  5. Filter the choices on the basis of branch, Institute and seat type
  6. Add choices
  7. Rearrrange your choices on the basis of preference

5. Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2021

The Maharashtra Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) is the official authority for Maharashtra MBBS admission.
