As you all know NEET is a highly competitive medical entrance test conducted by the respective authorities to allot medical admissions to different medical courses. NEET examination is held yearly at various exam centres across the country. The best way to crack the NEET examination is thoroughly covering the topics in NCERT textbooks.

Is NCERT enough for NEET preparation?

Have you ever gone through the previous years’ NEET question papers? If you look at the question trends of the NEET examination you could easily understand that more than 85% of the NEET questions are asked directly from the NCERT textbooks. Considering this, let’s say, NCERT can be considered as the best preparation material for the NEET examination.

Every year, over 16 lakh students take the NEET exam, and the difficulty of the exam should rise simultaneously with the number of students who apply. So, if you want to be at the top of the list, you should use reference books in addition to NCERT.

Why NCERT for NEET?

It is already said above that NEET 2022 candidates must give first preference to NCERT textbooks but at the same time, they must seek the help of other high-quality study materials too. Let’s see more reasons for considering NCERT as better preparation material for NEET.

  1. It contains well researched relevant information on all the three subjects
  1. NCERT books are easily accessible and understandable due to their clarity in material and simplicity in language.
  2. It is well-formatted in accordance with students’ needs.

Traditional NEET coaching centres usually fill up their study material with tougher questions that lead to a lot of stress and tension in parents and their wards. The NEET aspirant must need good exposure by practicing all kinds of concepts. Practicing with tougher questions leads to a FOMO that will be tougher to deal with. Reading NEET paper analysis will give you a complete idea about this.

NEET 2020 & 2021 Subject Wise Question Paper Analysis

NEET Physics 2020

The difficulty level was moderate, 17 of the 45 questions were based on the 11th-grade curriculum, while 28 were based on the 12th-grade curriculum. The paper’s 33 questions were easy, while 11 were moderate. There was only one difficult question asked.

NEET Physics 2021

For NEET 2021, numerical questions dominated 70% of the question paper, which is higher than in prior years. There were no problematic questions, and just four to five tough questions were asked in both sections A and B. The question paper, on the other hand, was extensive.

NEET Chemistry 2020

While compared with other subjects the chemistry paper was easy. A total of 45 questions were asked, with the difficulty level of 25 questions being fairly low. Similarly, 17 questions were moderate and 3 questions were tougher.

NEET Chemistry 2021

The paper was not lengthy and the difficulty level was moderate. The majority of the questions were based on NCERT figures, facts, and tables. There were a lot of statement-based and numerical problems. Three questions were based on graphs, while five were of the matrix match type.

NEET Biology 2020

The biology paper was simple, but it was also lengthy. The overall difficulty level of the 41 questions in the paper was fairly low, with 34 medium-level questions and 7 difficult-level ones.

NEET Botany 2021

The difficulty level of the Botany part was ‘easy to moderate,’ with only a few questions that appeared difficult and tricky. The questions were based on the NCERT syllabus, and most of them were factual in nature, with a few concept-based questions thrown in for good measure.

NEET Zoology 2021

The zoology section was of moderate difficulty. Certain questions appeared to be simple at first glance, but they were twisted and required accurate attention to the keywords. The surprising aspect was a question on Earthworm was directly asked from the NCERT textbook and only those who had read NCERT books could answer.

NEET syllabus

NEET covers topics from the Class 11 and 12 textbooks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Even though more importance is given to NCERT textbooks the NEET exam syllabus consists of the curricula of state boards, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, and COBSE for Class 11 and 12. The NEET syllabus covers each and every topic in detail. Studying all the topics thoroughly in a consistent way can help you to crack the NEET examination easily.
