The Assam NEET Counselling 2021 procedure began on November 23, 2021, with the announcement of the Assam NEET Counselling Merit List. Students will be able to register for Assam NEET 2021 counselling via the online mode from the first week of December. The Government of Assam will conduct Assam NEET counselling and it will be held in two stages and will be conducted offline.
The registration procedure for Assam NEET 2021 counselling would be performed online. Candidates interested in participating in Assam NEET 2021 counselling must first register on the Assam DME’s official website and complete the registration process. Counselling for Assam NEET 2021 will be held at the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Guwahati.

Assam NEET Counselling Schedule
The state authorities will provide a category merit list of applicants who passed the NEET written examination. Candidates can check their names on the website. To engage in counselling, candidates must complete an application form.
Every qualifying candidate would be required to attend the counselling process since this is the only way to get into a private or government medical college in Assam. Candidates will be allotted seats in the colleges based on their performance in the NEET Exam and their position in the state merit list.

Assam NEET Counselling 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates taking the Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2021 must meet certain eligibility requirements. The eligibility requirements are mandatory and candidates who do not satisfy any of them will be eliminated from the process.
Nationality –
- The applicant must be a registered Assamese citizen.
- Candidates’ parents must have lived in Assam for at least 20 years.
- The sons and daughters of All India Services officers serving in Assam are excluded from the aforementioned criteria.
Academic Qualification –
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 studies in physics, chemistry, biology, and English to be considered.
- Applicants must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 60% aggregate.
- The SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC candidates must have a minimum 50% aggregate score.
- The applicant must have completed classes 6 to 10 in Assam.
- The applicant must have successfully passed the NEET 2021 exam.
Age –
- The Candidate must not be above 24 years or below 17 years of age on December 31, 2021.
- For SC/ST candidates, the above-mentioned maximum age restriction is lowered by three years.

Assam NEET Counselling 2021 Process –
Eligibility – Candidates must specify whether they wish to participate in the state quota counselling when filling out the NEET 2021 application form. The DME Guwahati would compile a list of individuals who are qualified to participate in Assam NEET 2021 counselling. This list will be made available on DME’s official website. Only the list of eligible candidates would be allowed to attend Assam NEET counselling in 2021.
Registration – Candidates who want to take part in the Assam NEET 2021 counselling must first register on the DME’s official website. The full registration procedure will take place online. To finish the registration process (regardless of category), an applicant must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500.
State Merit List –
DME would produce a merit list of those who have registered for Assam NEET 2021 counselling. This merit list will be compiled using the marks/ranks obtained in NEET 2021. The state will also create a distinct merit list for each category from an overall merit list. Seats reserved for a certain group of candidates will be filled according to the merit list.
Counselling Schedule –
The DME would publish a timetable for Assam NEET counselling in 2021. Candidates from other categories will have their counselling sessions on separate days. Seats that are unfilled after the first round of counselling will be filled in the second round.
Reporting to the office of DME – A candidate must report to the office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Six Miles, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 to participate in Assam NEET 2021 counselling. The candidate must bring the required documents to the counselling session, both the original and a self-attested copy.

FAQs
The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) is in charge of issuing the Assam cut-off and conducting NEET counselling in the state.
Through the Assam State Medical and Dental Colleges, DME would allocate 900 seats for MBBS and 40 seats for BDS
Once the NEET Counselling process is done, the merit list will be announced by the College. The merit list of the number of qualified candidates will be purely based on the Institute’s cut-off.
During Assam NEET counselling, seats would be allocated in two ways. Both options will be determined by the candidate’s NEET score/percentile. Following that, priority would be provided based on the colleges selected by the candidate throughout the Assam NEET counselling form filling procedure.
Seat availability for MBBS and BDS programmes is determined by cut-offs and rankings. If MBBS and BDS seats are not available in Assam, students can enrol in alternative NEET Assam courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS BYMS, BSMS, and Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences.
