This year’s National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Exam (NEET-UG) for admission to medical schools will remain unchanged with regards to the pattern, mode, and syllabus. Between June and July 2021, the exams will be taken on paper. According to Amit Khare, secretary, higher education, making any changes on such short notice would be unfair to the students, and the delay in conducting the test would have an effect on the new session.
The ministry of education required the medical entrance exam to be held more regularly and on computers, but a timely agreement with the ministry of health could not be achieved regarding the number of attempts. With the performance of conducting JEE (Main) multiple times a year and close to 28% of aspirants raising their scores (based on the 2020 results), there has been an increasing demand for the same for NEET-UG as well.
The authorities have not yet decided to hold the NEET 2021 twice a year even after a meeting between the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the NTA. While believing that a large number of NEET aspirants are still not ready to take the exam in an online format, they are still doubtful to hold the test twice this year.
This year as well, the candidates will be given an OMR sheet to mark their responses according to the NEET 2021 exam pattern. As a consequence, it’s important to learn what there is to know about the OMR sheet and how to fill it out. The number of questions and the syllabus of NEET exam pattern 2021 remains unchanged. So start organizing your schedules and get ready for your entrances!
