The MOP-up round of counseling for NEET 2020 just finished. Even after the counseling still, a few seats remain vacant. And if you were not able to get admission to the medical college, this is your chance.

Recently the MOP-up counseling round for NEET 2020 got over. Still, around 2,463 MBBS and BDS seats are left vacant. To ensure that no seat remains vacant, the MCC has called for Stray vacancy round counseling. However, stray counseling will be conducted offline by the college to fill its seat. Usually, the stray vacancy round is undertaken mainly in colleges that have NRI and management seats.

What is the eligibility to attend the stray vacancy round?

Stray vacancy round counseling is hope for students who did not get admission for MBBS/BDS. But before proceeding to attend the stray vacancy counseling, the applicant must be aware of their eligibility to attend it. According to the MCC, all registered candidates are eligible for stray counseling except:

  • Those candidates who took admission to a medical/dental college after getting a seat allotted in the second round of counseling from AIQ. However, some state allows you to opt for the stray vacancy, enabling you to apply for the stray vacancy round of counseling.
  • Candidates to whom a seat was allotted in a medical/dental during the MOP-up round of counseling.
  • Candidates who joined the medical/dental college after getting a seat allotted during the MOP-up round.

Also, registered candidates who did not register in either round of counseling are eligible to apply for stray vacancy counseling.

How to register for stray vacancy counseling?

While stray vacancy counseling is a second chance for NEET aspirants, it is essential to know the registration process. The registration for the Stray vacancy round is online. However, the candidate must be present physically during the admission. As per MCC guidelines for admission, a college’s allotment to the student should only be on merit.

What is the process to participate in stray vacancy counseling?

The stray vacancy round of NEET counseling is conducted at the college/university level. Thus, if you wish to apply for a college or a university, you need to register yourself for that college/university. Also, you need to present in every stary vacancy counseling that you have applied for. We also advise carrying all the necessary documents with you while attending Stray vacancy counseling.
