NEET Exam 2020 postponed

COVID-19 has stuck all of our lives. All sectors have been affected more or less due to the nationwide continuous lockdown for 3 months. Education is one of the sectors in it. National Eligibility and Entrance Test, NEET exam 2020 along with Joint Engineering Entrance, JEE exam 2020 dates are being postponed due to  COVID-19 spread. NEET-UG which was earlier scheduled on 3rd May was rescheduled to July 26th.

But due to the alarming increase in the number of COVID-19 cases across the nation, safety concerns of student’s lives were raised by the parents. Although the postponement of competitive exams was inevitable, the uncertainty of dates was breaking the dam of students’ patience. Finally, the revised dates were announced by the officials today. NEET UG 2020 examination will be held on 13th September. The JEE main exam will be held between 1st to 6th September. Consequently, the JEE advanced exam will be held on 27th September.

Parents Rallying against NEET and JEE exam 2020

After the cancellation of the CBSE exam, all students and their parents had begun protesting against NTA to postpone the NEET exam 2020 and JEE main exam 2020. This has happened when Telangana High Court stay to conduct the various Common Entrance Test (CET) in the state. Moreover, students took to twitter with #RIPNTA to show their disappointment with the current decisions. Parents, especially from the middle east countries such as Doha, Qatar, Dubai, UAE have also filed a plea to the Supreme Court in the demand of new center allotment for the NEET exam or to postpone the exam. 

HRD Minister’s Today’s Statement wins the hearts of students

HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal in his latest tweet finally reviews the dates. Regarding these two examinations, Mr. Pokhriyal said “Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone #JEE & #NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st-6th Sept, JEE advanced will be held on 27th Sept & NEET examination will be held on 13th Sept.” 

Considering the current pandemic situation, he understands students’ and their parents’ anxiety about both entrance exams. So, the safety of the students will be the primary concern always.
